New Weezer Tour Dates Announced
Tour dates for the Weezer/Foo Fighters tour have been announced for a few
cities, more to come of course, but here are the first few announced:
Thu. Sept. 8 - Atlanta GA - Gwinnett Arena
Sat. Sept. 10 - Sunrise FL - Office Depot Center
Sun. Sept. 11 - Tampa FL - St. Petersburg Times Forum
Tue. Sept. 13 - Houston TX - Woodlands Arena
Wed. Sept. 14 - Austin TX - Frank Erwin Center
Thu. Sept. 15 - Dallas TX - Smirnoff Center
These were, of course, confirmed by weezer.com, who has also confirmed that the
following cities will be visited on the tour, although no dates have been
released:
San Diego, Phoenix, Denver, Minneapolis, Chicago, Champaign IL, Grand Rapids,
Detroit, Cleveland, Columbus, Baltimore, Worcester, New York, Philadelphia,
Fresno, Seattle and Portland OR.
Hopefully you can all get out to see Weezer at some of these shows!
We'll try to update as more are announced.

Downtime...
Sorry about the recent (and possibly recurring) downtime...we're having a few
issues with the server we're on. However, we are currently on a temporary server
waiting for our permanent one to be assembled and brought online, so hopefully
once all that happens we won't be having all these problems. Again, sorry, but
it doesn't look like theres much we can do for now.
Go rock on to some Weezer if you can't access the site!

Caught Up...
Nearly all of the Weezer images are back up, and all of the Weezer setlists are
up to date. My apologies on not keeping caught up, with school ending I had
other things on my mind. I should be better about it now, though.
We are now on a server with WeezerNation and Weezed, along with some other
sites. This allows us to provide more stuff to you guys without worrying about
the amount of bandwidth/etc being used. The more Weezer together the better!
Stay tuned for the new Weezer tour dates in the U.S.

Concerts...what?!
First show of the tour tonight in Vancouver. Anyone who went should send the
setlist in to us through the submit page if you can
remember it!
Beverly Hills continues to improve on the charts as well, always a good thing.
It'll be interesting to see how the next single does...

Beverly Hills is currently at #6 on the Billboard Modern Rock Chart. It's still
hanging around the top in iTunes as well.
Weezer will be feature in some articles in the near future, so be sure to keep
your eyes open for it in Rolling Stone and Spin.

The images will return shortly. We switched over to a new server, and since the
images were stored in the database and...well, that hosting wasn't the greatest,
it won't let me retrieve them. Look for them shortly!
Weezer.com should be switching over to the new site today and tomorrow as well,

Weezer: Make Believe - tentative tracklist
Weezer's new album, Make Believe, hasn't had a definite track list announced
yet. But, as was first noted on AlbumFive.com, Amazon seems to have put a
tracklist up by mistake. Someone got a screenshot of this before it went down,
and the tracks listed are as follow:

4) Beverly Hills
5) This is Such a Pity

Make Believe: Other Tracks
Rolling Stone has an articl
e out online that talks about some of Make Believe's other tracks. Excerpts:
"Beverly Hills is one of Weezer's best-ever pop songs, combining heavy guitar
crunch with a melody (Pat) Wilson says has a "Steve Miller vibe."
"The probable second single, We Are All on Drugs, has a pop-metal vibe that
evokes Def Leppard."
"Peace sound(s) like (an) autobiographical dispatch from a troubled soul: 'All
these problems in my mind/Make it hard for me to think,' Cuomo sings in a
quavering voice over acoustic-guitar strumming. The song climaxes in a choir's
worth of overdubbed Cuomo vocal tracks that harmonize on some prototypically
Weezer-ish whoa-oh-oh's."
"The breakup lament "This Is Such a Pity" -- which boasts Cars-like chugging
rhythm guitars, a prominent synthesizer part from a cheap Casio and a lengthy
guitar solo -- is similarly heartfelt."
Hopefully Brian Bell was right when quoted as saying "We didn't ever set out and
say, 'Let's do a mixture of Pinkerton and the Blue Album with some Maladroit

The Beverly Hills music video will debut on MTV 2 on Tuesday, March 29. The Make
A Video for it will air on MTV 2 on March 30.
There's a high quality copy of Beverly Hills that is already floating around as

Summersonic Festival
Weezer has announced that it once again will perform at the Summersonic Festival in Japan
this August.
Make Believe will is officially slated for May 10, and Beverly Hills will be
ready to be played on the radio on March 29.
The European tour is set, and Weezer even added a show in Ireland, where they've
never played before. The lineup for this tour is:

The title for Album 5 has been officially announced on weezer.com as "Make
Believe". Karl also states in the latest news update that the album will almost
definitely be out in May and that it currently is being mixed in New York City.

Who Would Have Thought
Weezer's first new single, Beverly Hills, will be available for airplay 3/21. As
Karl pointed out, info is avaiable here.
The album is going to be finished up after Rivers is done with his semester at
school, and they are already working on getting something set up for touring.
Always a good sign.
Looks as though things may have finally started to happen...crazy, isn't it?

The poll broke itself, so I've removed it for the time being. I am currently
working on a member system which will allow you to add concerts you have gone to
into your account, create a list of concerts you have available for trading, and
create a list of concerts you would like to receive, etc etc. More stuff than
that will be possible when it's finished, but until then that will suffice.

While looking through the log file I see some people are attempting to post
comments on the news. This will be fixed asap; it was written before to be
integrated with the message board, and that is not currently installed on our
site. Temporary fix is going to be allowing everyone to post as Guest, primary
fix will be allowing you to register a nickname to post under for commenting on
songs/news/concerts/etc, and others will still be able to post as Guest. Sorry
guys, just bear with me for a few days here!
EDIT: Comments should be working, type whatever username you'd like and leave
the password field blank. Good 'nuff for now!

To-Do List
Figured I'd share this with everyone so they know what's going on:
1) Finish adding setlists to the setlist archive so rarity indices are correct.
Eventually have them calculated based upon information from when that song was
debuted and thereafter. However, this will take considerable amounts of research
time on our part, and will not be done in the short term.
2) Get as much information into the tablature section as possible, it is
somewhat lacking at the moment.
3) Finish writing up the bio's for those who have yet to have one written for
them.
4) Redo the Tour Info page. When this is done, it will only show the current (or
last) tour that Weezer was on, and will contain many interesting facts about the
setlists/etc during this tour.
5) Figure out what we are going to be offering in regards to media downloads.
6) Throw all of the old images from the old site back up into the Images
section. If anyone would like to submit Fan Art, feel free to email it to us at
apfeifer@weezernet.com.
7) Go through the links section and remove all dead links/etc. If anyone would
be interested in trading links hit us up at the forementioned email address.
8) Throw a placeholder up for the forums. Our situation regarding discussion
forums still remains to be seen at this point, but we might as well put a page
up explaining that.
This list will continue to be updated as more information becomes available/as
we complete more of it.

is currently not finished, and some information still needs to be updated,

Andrew and myself. We've decided to close the site, unless someone wants to buy
it from us, then they can keep it going. Otherwise, the site will go down in
October, as Andrew is cancelling the hosting. Its been fun, and it was fun to
build, but its not fun anymore, so we're done.

My Name Is
Jonas as covered by Closeminded, the band with the board member of the same
name. Its ok, the music itself is pretty good but the vocals could use some
work. I'd say its a 2-3 out of 5. The guitar solo sounds a little bit
unguitarish, if thats a word, and theres too much shouting from my point of
view, but its still cool to hear.

Hopefully we'll have some mp3s up by tomorrow. If anyone has any specific
requests, post them here. We will NOT be hosting anything that was on any of the
4 albums, but we will put up bsides and anything else, if we have it.

compilation from forum responses he gave, but its still somewhat interesting to
read.
Also if you havent voted yet for Weezer in the K-Rock battle do so. Weezer

Check out the .ws, you'll
find 3 mp3's from a bootleg of the Chicago show from the end of the Summer
2000 tour. Go grab these while you can, the quality is excellent, the
performance is great (like all the ss2k shows), and this is a rare
bootleg -- not even Bokka has it. Hopefully the rest will be
up within a day or two.
[EDIT] - ok, turns out it isn't really rare, heh. it's just not on
Bokka's list, maybe he does have it. But, it will be up at weezer.ws
tomorrow.

a pretty cool update. Rivers' riff/song list has been put up. Its pretty cool,
has stuff dating back to 1984. Its not by lyrics mind you, but by guitar riffs
which is why some songs are named for their chord progression or having an
a,b,c, or even d version of some titles.

Go here to
check out something pretty cool. It's a poll RollingStone.com setup to ask you
the viewers/readers to tell them what your top 10 favorite albums of all-time
are. So go there and vote, and give your honest opinion (but also let Rolling
Stone know how big of a mistake it was calling Pinkerton the 'worst album of
1996')!
Also, according to mtv.com news, Rivers has unfortunately stated that there will be
NO third single released from Maladroit, and the guys are
just gonna focus on V from now on. It's a shame. Just more great songs that will
go un-noticed to the general public... *sigh*
And one last thing, I never heard of or have seen this site, so maybe you
haven't either. It couldn't hurt: rivers.maladroit.com

making of Maladroit with comments from Pat and engineer Chad Bamford.
The October issue of "Modern Drummer Magazine" has a short article on
Maladroit.

Demo Wars and Misc. Updates
Eh, yeah, I've kinda gotten busy and not updated that lately. Don't worry, it'll
be updated to the finals some time in the near future. What does everyone think
of an interview section? Or maybe a setlist archive (had this in mind for a
while, before I even realized you had one Nick, so don't yell at me!)? Anything
else you guys want? We're really looking for things to make the site better at
this point, so throw all of your ideas at us, and they will be taken seriously
(well, if they are serious, they will be...).
Edit: Just thought of two more things, what would everyone think about a
newsletter that emailed you when there was a new posting here? Also, everyone

Allright supposedly Rivers has started his own record company and has already
signed Am Radio. I also heard that he called his record company something along
the lines of "Blue Records" but I think thats already taken so this whole thing
is full of loop holes. So if anyone can comfirm or bash all of this leave a

this info, the next single of Maladroit is going to be none other than Slob, and
Karl has already shot a video for it.

Everybody told me... (and I knew it myself...)
Three things:(also go down one post, this is a shameless promotion by
Burndtjammer)
One, I am working on the lyrics section for the next few days. I corrected the
lyrics for "The Purification of Water", and I re-ordered the Maladroit tracks
that were in the wrong order so far. I plan to check all the lyrics for
accuracy, and add more songs tonight, and into the next few days.
Second, please don't forget to vote for Keep Fishin' on
TRL. Love it or hate it, the band wants to see TRL with some Weez injected
into it. Supposedly you can turn off cookies on your browser, and vote multiple
times. Even though the week is over, it would still be nice to see it next
week.
Thirdly, if you are a baseball fan, congratulations to Barry Bonds, who just hit
his 600th career Home Run.

More Than The Obvious
A few Things
"Expect a major update soon. (Going from 3 to 18 bootlegs won't seem so major
anymore after this one ;)" Atleast thats what it says over at
theweezersource.com. Im guessing more bootlegs but thats too obvious, hopefully
itll be something extraordinary. So keep your eyes fixed on about 15 weezer
sites or just check here every once and a while and we'll tell you about it all
when it happens.
I did write(steal most) up of Brians Bio and that should be up soon. I sent
it in to Andrew so what he did with it is way past me.
And last but not least I shall end the day not on weezer cause I think its
well worth it. Once this vote for weezer on trl dies down at the close of this
week is it too much for people to start voting for Silverchair-The Greatest
View. Youll have to type it in yourslef cause its not listed yet but its worth
it. And requesting it at your local radio stations would be cool too. Daniel is
really sick and they had to cancel all their shows they had planned for the next
year so it would be awesome if everyone could help spread the rock. We did it
for weezer, and i think a lot of us weezer fans like silverchair as well so lets
help spread the rock. Thanks, comments are welcome.

out cool content. Check it out. They've put up a fairly decent bootleg from the
Summer of 2000 plus old versions of that site throughout the past year. Thanks

"The Lion and the Witch" EP is due out September 17th. Only 25,000 copies will
be made. You'll only be able to get it at certain record stores, and it will not
be sold on the internet.

Staff Wanted
The Weezer Network is currently looking for some staff that would be able to go
out and find Weezer related news, and post on here on The Weezer Network. With
school starting up again soon, Jeff and myself won't have as much time to do
that, and will have to focus mainly on keeping the site up. Your job would be to
just find Weezer related news, and post it here, occasionally update lyrics,

Dallas
I went to the Dallas show last night, and aside from it being extremely hot, it
was great. Rivers seemed to be in a good mood and the setlist was pretty good.
They played quite a few Pinkerton songs, like normal lately, and a bunch of Blue
and Maladroit.

The Wild Card round has begun. These are the third and fourth place finishers
from the first three rounds. The top two will advance to the semi final rounds
along with the first and second place finishers from the first three rounds.

St. Paul Bootleg
These will be up on this site as soon as the people over at The Weezer Recording
Project have them ready. They will go up in two sets, first half will be up for

Minneapolis - 7/9
Wow. This show was awesome. It was an incredibly amazing setlist, best I've ever
seen. The whole band just seemed to really be into it, and so was the crowd.
Just an amazing overall show. Butterfly was played for the first time since 1997
in the US, and it was great. As Karl said on weezer.com, "this was just an epic
show."

<-Poll - Demo Wars
Everyone check out the poll on the middle-left side of the page. We're going to
have a little 'tournament', of sorts, with the new demos that came out. Here's
how it's going to work: Three rounds. First round will have three groups, having
8, 8, and 7 options, respectively. The top 2 finishers in each of the groups
will move on to the second, or semifinal round. The top two finishers in the
semifinal will meat head on in the final, and the winner winning based on the
simple majority of votes. Each round will go for approximately a week, so get
voting!

Keep Fishin'
At 5:05 AM Central Time MTV played the new Keep Fishin' video for the first
time. The report of what happens by Geisert_8_Band from the weezer.com message
boards, "miss piggy kidnaps Pat, and the band are playing without him. Animal
fills in on drums. while the band is playing, the swedish chef comes and slices
pat's rope and sets him free and Pat runs around and hides from her until he can
get out to the stage. various muppets including kermit, gonzo, and fozzie sing
backup. it's the coolest video ever. it's very bright and happy and typical
Muppet/Weezer style. it makes me want to go hug a puppy dog now." I'm almost
tempted to install my TV card for my PC so I can record it...

The Weezer news channels haven't been extremely active lately, or at least the
ones I have access to. However, Karl has announced that they have the list of
songs that they are going to have on the Summer EP all planned out. Also, around
July 8 Keep Fishin' will begin to play on MTV and MTV2.

Rod's Sub-Par Foosball Skills...
Well, it seems that Rivers has prevailed at foosball again, this time beating
beating Rod Cervera 10-0. In other news, Weezer is still hard at work recording
songs for their fifth album, due out in early 2003. There have been 35 songs

Lyrics and News Comments / MP3 News
First off, we have gotten the comments part finished for both News and Lyrics.
Feel free to post your opinions on a song or a news article posted here on the
site. And be sure to use it!
On another note, we will be changing how we offer MP3's for download. Currently,
they are own our server and we only have around 6-8 up at once. Right now, we
are in the process of uploading around 120 MP3's to an unidentified host, so we
can offer you a greater choice of downloads. This will also help us, as it will
not eat up our bandwidth so fast.

Keep Fishin' Video
MTV has posted some interesting news on the new Keep Fishin' video. According to
MTV, in the clip, Weezer are guests on the Muppet Show, and tag along (with the
Muppets singing backup) to Beaker and Bunsen's lab and have a little 'quality'
time with Miss Piggy backstage. For the MTV articles regarding this, check it

post. Ace may or may not be Rivers, that is for you to decide, although Andrew
and I both think it probably is him. This isn't official yet, but a rumor.
